Civil War

Civil War is set in a future United States, which is divided between a besieged central government in Washington DC and several successionist factions, the strongest of which is the Western Forces (WF) who are closing in on the capital.
The story is told through the eyes of a small group of journalists, who are attempting to get to Washington to interview the embattled President. The film introduces them covering a clash in New York City between what appear to be police forces from the official government and violent members of the opposition.
Kirsten Dunst plays Lee, a legendary white female photo journalist in the mould of her namesake Lee Miller. Civil War is just as much a road movie as a war movie: their journey, unwinding as a progression of encounters – some tragic, some comic – captures the near-complete breakdown of social order.
A staggering and frequently brilliant film looking at hopefully, just a fictionalized version of America destroying itself from within.
