This is a sunny romantic comedy that starts out on the streets of South East London, where twentysomethings Yas (Oparah) and Dom (Jonsson) meet for the first time in an Art gallery.
Over the course of a day, they bond over their failed past relationships, and settle scores with their respective exes. Could a new romance be just around the corner?
It’s a warm, fun, instantly likeable story, centred around two charismatic young leads in Oparah and Jonsson. They are joined by an almost entirely Black British cast (with Colin Firth in a cameo role). Rye Lane will leave you with a smile on your face and a spring in your step, and (hopefully) a renewed confidence in the next-wave British film-making.
